Die Rebellen Haben Sich In Den Bergen Versteckt
study for Prospectus’s second or third scene

a dramatized reading with actors Vítor de Andrade, Maria Duarte, Miguel Loureiro and Inês Nogueira

Die Rebellen Haben Sich In Den Bergen Versteckt is a study for the re-enactment of a conversation occurred in 1971 between a group of foreigners and members of the Yamagishi-Kai Japanese commune located in northwest area of the country.
They talk on how their communal daily-life is trespassed by kensan practice, the art of guided conversation, a ‘non-hierarchical decision making process’ based in the exchange of individual, often contradictory, points of views. At some point the conversation is intersected by a fictional topic about textile engineering and design. The dialogue is set over Conrad Schnitzler’s sound chronicle Die Rebellen Haben Sich In Den Bergen Versteckt (the rebels have been hiding in the mountains) from his 1974 Blau LP.
Prospectus is an on-going project which has a group of texts/lectures by William Morris as its departing reference. The first scene was presented last January in the group show Itinerarios at Fundación Botín, Santander. The present study-section will eventually join Prospectus’ second or third scene, and is a drift from the author’s text ‘Some Hints on Pattern-Designing’ from 1884.

Translation (english to portuguese): Gonçalo Gama Pinto.
Actors: Vítor de Andrade, Maria Duarte, Miguel Loureiro, Inês Nogueira
