PROSPECTUS. Scene III, Interval and Scene IV

Covilhã, final do séc. XX.

The city of Covilhã (Portugal), end of the 20th century:
the textile industry crisis, the worker's fight movements, the recreational and cultural social clubs; and the "certain absolute necessities such as speculative thought, style, orphic chaos, the endless leisure".

The project conceived for the Multipurpose Room and the Temporary Exhibitions Gallery of the CAM/Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, takes place in three stages. Curator: Rita Fabiana.

SCENE III (04.06 - 28.09.2014)
“We’re talking about a time that is located on a plateau. That’s why we’ve given this textile interpretation centre that name, Plateau.
This place is not just higher than its surroundings. It exists in another dimension, one that is further advanced in time and overlapping other societies and places that once existed and settled prior to our arrival.”
Planalto, Textil Interpretation Centre

INTERVAL (10.07.2014)
Screening of films selected by the artist.

SCENE IV (20.09.2014)
Dramatization of texts based on documentary sources of and about the textile industry of Covilhã (Portugal).
